Food Rescue Mission

Food Rescue Mission

The Food Rescue Mission is a daily seven-day-a week effort wherein we “glean” from local food establishments an assortment of perishable foods. Volunteers visit our local food donors each day beginning at 7:30 a.m. The “rescued” food items are brought to The Kitchen of the Lord where they are sorted, repackaged and stored in our walk-in freezer for Saturday morning distribution. This effort is conducted seven days a week. Helping Hands also rescues perishable foods on an "on-call" basis from local churches and organizations.
